John 14:6 New King James Version (NKJV) “I am the way, the truth, and the life. ...Declared Jesus. Today's message is on " Truth"
John 18:37-38 New King James Version (NKJV) 37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” 38 Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all. According to this passage, Jesus answers Who, What He is. Why he was borm. Now you and I all have to decide what to do with Jesus claims. But first, let us examine the scriptural definition of "Truth". And lets contrast it with Today's Post modern View of "Truth"
What is the Truth?
Pilate asked a very important question in John 18:37-38(see above) Here Christ reveals 3 things concerning himself and the Truth
Pilate ? What is Truth? First let us examine some of the truth out there. Lets look at what the scriptures have said about the Truth also Science and Reasonning and Philosophy
Biblical Claims One true God. Jeremiah 10:10-11 New King James Version (NKJV) 10 But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation. 11 Thus you shall say to them: “The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.” John 17:3 New King James Version (NKJV) 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent I realize this is not a Popular Statement. It is exclusive, its not excepting of other "Truth Claims" I will attemp to argue for and against... Problems:
Truth can be twisted 2 Timothy 2:15 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. God loves you so much, it does not matter how you live *or* God is a vengefull God, so better not be bad. *or worse* Cult scenario Trust must be tempered with Mercy i.e. Love Psalm 85:10 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 10 Lovingkindness and [a]truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Proverbs 3:3 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. Speak Truth in Love Ephesians 4:14-16 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 14 [a]As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness [b]in deceitful scheming; 15 but [c]speaking the truth in love, [d]we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together [e]by what every joint supplies, according to the[f]proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Truth is found in God's Word. Psalm 119:160New American Standard Bible (NASB) 160 The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. Psalm 119:142 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth. Truth sanctifies us John 17:13-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB) The Disciples in the World13 But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them [a]from [b]the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.17 Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctifiedin truth. 20 “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us,so that the world may [c]believe that You sent Me. Truth sets us free John 8:31-32 New American Standard Bible (NASB) The Truth Will Make You Free 31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” Worship in Spirit and Truth John 4:23-24 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 God is [a]spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Finally Truth is a person John 14:6 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 3:16-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His [a]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the [b]only begotten Son of God. 19 This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” ........................................................... C.S. Lewis in his book "Mere Christianity" concerning Christ Truth Claims , concluded : he is either speaking Truth, or He is a liar or deranged lunatic. He cannot be both. We either Worship him or Reject him. He cannot be a "Good man" only. So my question is this. What have you done with Jesus and His Claims? God is a Personel God in His Son. And we must all come to terms with Him personnally. May God Bless you, May God Keep you and May God make his Face Shine upon you.
